JOHN AND CILLA SANDH HAVE OWNED AND OPERATED GARPENBERG CASTLE SINCE 2014.

“We saw an advertisement in the newspaper and just couldn't resist! A castle in Southern Dalarna appealed to us with all that it entails The building is stunningly beautiful, as are the surroundings. Its proximity to cities yet still so secluded and different. We were taken by the charm and jumped at the challenge in autumn 2014!

Our goal and our vision is the same as it has been here for the past 20 years since the Royal School of Forestry left the premises. Running the Castle under the concept of "Celebrations & Meetings" is what we do today. Improvements and refinements are our daily tasks in order to ensure that our guests' experience with us is perfect.

Food and drink is a source of pleasure for most people, which is why we take pride in presenting our dishes in a manner that is pleasing on both the eye and the palate. From here, our guests will take with them a memorable experience they will be happy to share!

The list of what we can offer today is long, but we are constantly adding new activities. Nothing is impossible, just ask and we will be pleased to tailor your stay at the Castle.

We are sitting on a cultural treasure that we cherish with the utmost respect. The building is listed as a cultural monument, which involves obligations and restrictions, so we have learned a lot in a short time. The castle is full of surprises behind every door and living here will never be boring!
